Have you ever felt stuck in a shopping rut? All your usual places are coming up short or you’re just tired of looking at the same old stuff? I totally have, but I’ve also spent a fair amount of time exploring the World Wide Web to find stores that really align with my style, which I recently decided I would identify as Relaxed Casual.

What does Relaxed Casual mean?

To me, it means I don’t ever want to look like I’m trying too hard or that my clothing is wearing ME instead of me wearing my clothing. I want clothes to FIT beautifully, I want them to make me FEEL relaxed, I definitely don’t want to have to fuss with them or constantly adjust them to make them look right, and I want them to adapt to my casual lifestyle as a busy mom of 4, even if the occasion does call for a slightly dressier outfit.

Does that sound at all like you?? Then you’re going to LOVE the following lists! Bookmark this post for future shopping sprees so you have a one stop list for some of my favorite online shops for clothing, accessories and home!

BEFORE YOU SHOP: Each link in this post will take you directly to the category being discussed (i.e. if the link is in the dress section of the post, it will direct you to dresses from the shop being mentioned – so click around and have fun seeing different sections of each shop!)

MY FAVORITE STORES FOR CLOTHING

Let’s break it down even further:

  • DENIM: I love brands like Good American, AG, Agolde, Abercrombie, Mother Denim, Levi’s, and 7 for All Mankind. Most of the time I am able to purchase these from the department stores like Nordstrom or Shopbop so that I can earn rewards from those shops (like Nordstrom notes or higher status which sometimes gives early access to sales and other perks), but occasionally I need to go directly to the brand website.
  • CONTEMPORARY: Contemporary fashion includes brands that are not your SUPER high designers (like Gucci) but they are on-trend, high end fashion designers that are easily accessible and in a more middle price range. These are brands like Tory Burch, Paige, Marc Jacobs, Rag and Bone, etc. My first stop for this is actually Nordstrom Rack and I have a little quick trick for shopping these Contemporary brands at a discount without having to dig too much… When you click on “WOMEN” you will see a dropdown menu – see in the bold left column all those different categories? There’s a whole category just for Contemporary brands!! I love to scour this section of Nordstrom Rack and have gotten some incredible deals on brands like Veronica Beard, AG, and more using this trick!

MY FAVORITE STORES FOR SHOES & ACCESSORIES

First let me say that often times when it comes to purses, I go straight to the designer. I love a designer handbag (and have since I was a younger woman with zero budget for such things) so some of my favorite designers to shop are Gucci, Celine, Chloe, etc. But lately I have to admit, I’ve been less drawn to the bigger designers and more drawn to contemporary purse designers, having just ordered this tote for Spring. I still consider this an investment bag, but much *less* of an investment, and I actually like letting my outfits do more of the talking than just slapping a fancy handbag on top of everything. Time and place for both!

  • Zappos
  • Clare V.
  • Shopbop (where I buy most of my Golden Goose)
  • Nordstrom
  • Bauble Bar
  • Anthropologie
  • Gilt (designer)
  • Dagne Dover
  • Tiny Tags
  • Sunglass Hut (fun fact: Stockton worked here in college!)
  • Poshmark – I have purchased a lot of high end goods on here when I wasn’t quite sure I wanted to make the big investments, including my first several pairs of Golden Goose sneakers, a Chloe handbag, and about 15 Roxanne Assouline enamel tile bangles. Accessories are easy to purchase here since you don’t have to stress about sizing and there are a lot of new with tags items.
