Friday Finds 10-15-21

by Courtney Schultz

It’s time for FRIDAY FINDS! This week I have some super random finds but also some really handy PARTY finds, so if you know you’ll be planning a party or event in the near future, bookmark this post for when you’re ready to par-tay 😉

Item 1: Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Glow Pads (aka my facial self tanner wipes!)

I have had these for a super long time, and while I’ve been an infrequent user thanks to Summer sun, it’s getting into gloomier weather and on top of that, I’ve been taking better care to wear sunscreen everyday and keep the bad rays away. I don’t want to give up a healthy glow though, so I really like these. I know there are a million tanning products out there, but this is just my current favorite. I don’t use these anywhere but my face, neck and chest and they totally do the trick for me. I apply them in the morning on clean skin when I know I’m going to have a pretty low key at-home day. Super happy with the way one pad gives you glow for about a week but I could see doing this up to 2x/week to maintain a nice tan all fall and winter long.

Item 2: HAPPY LIGHT. Speaking of a lack of natural sun during the fall and winter months, I finally decided to grab myself a happy light. Have you heard of these!? Some of the benefits of using this type of light therapy include:

  • Brings the Sunshine Indoors (Even When It’s Raining)
  • Energizes You Naturally
  • Resets Your Sleep & Wake Cycle to Your Natural State
  • Enhances Mood During Seasonal Changes

It doesn’t blast you with any harmful rays like a tanning bed (and no it won’t GIVE you a tan, either). You just turn on the light in the area you’re working or sitting or hanging out and it acts as your own personal ray of sunshine. This is literally proven to battle seasonal depression, so I decided to get a jump start and just make it a part of my routine NOW. And if you live in a climate where you don’t get a parma-cloud for a few months, congratulations. Proceed to item #3.

Item 3: Balloon mosaic number frame. In case you aren’t following me on Instagram yet, I’ve been sharing all week about birthday party prep for my (almost) 3 and 5 year olds who are having a combined party this weekend. I can’t WAIT and I will certainly be sharing all of the details on the blog next week, but in the meantime while I’m over here in the land of prep, this balloon mosaic number frame will be a super fun party accent. You do have to assemble the pieces but there’s NO way I could have made this outline on my own with my limited patience and skills, so it was worth it to order the frames from this Etsy seller. Can’t wait to show you my final product next week!

Item 4: Electric balloon inflater. Trust me, if you have ANY intention of ever creating a balloon arch or mosaic number frame like above, you will want an electric balloon inflater. My exact model is discontinued but this one comes highly recommended on Amazon and actually has dual nozzles so you can work with a partner to get your balloons inflated in half the time. Worth. Every. Penny.

Item 5: Had to save the best for last, and that’s this ADORABLE custom cake topper. I literally cried tears in the aisle of the grocery store when I was sent the final photo of it. I’ll share more about why this birthday party is so special to me next week, but this cake topper really set off the mama waterworks. She has a ton of color options available and is so accommodating if you need something custom. AND you could totally choose a basic color for each child (say, gold or navy blue, etc.) and use it year after year so it’s just a one time purchase. I also happen to think this would make a super cute floral arrangement insert if you weren’t using it for a cake. Such a special touch and I can’t wait to see it all come together on Sunday.

That’s all for this week! Back to party prep I go. Have a great weekend, friends!
