Spring 2022 Swimsuit Roundup

by Courtney Schultz

Swimsuits are fun for me to shop for – call me crazy, but I kind of collect them. In the summer, they’re a staple and on vacation, we wear them more than real clothes typically, so I think they’re worth investing in. I collect swimsuits of all different price points, and some are better for family time, while others are better for an adult getaway, but no matter where I’m going or who I’m with, I think I’ve settled on the fact that I’m a one-piece or high-waisted-two-piece kinda gal. I have no shame around my midsection, after all, it’s served me well through four pregnancies and I’m proud of how I care for my body, but I’m the type of person that refuses to be distracted by my clothing. If something is preventing me from feeling fully comfortable or relaxed, then in my opinion the clothing is wearing you and not the other way around. So, for the sake of not thinking about my swimwear too much while I’m wearing it, this bathing suit roundup does not include any true bikinis. BUT it does include tons of other adorable styles, that I think any woman would look gorgeous AND feel comfortable in. So here we go!

HIGH WAISTED BIKINIS

These are every woman’s best friend and I just hope they stick around for the long haul, because they are universally flattering. All of the suits in this post, I own and can attest to! From the super bargain Amazon style (love the bandeau neckline) that I’ve worn for 3 Summers in a row to the mid-range J. Crew Factory style which I own in both green and solid black, all the way to the slightly pricier L. Space style (beware this one is a tiny bit cheekier), I love them all.

ONE PIECES

There’s nothing like a well cut one piece in my opinion, and I place a high value on swimsuits that can catch the eye while still flattering the body. Let’s start with classic black, which you can never go wrong with. The triangle cutout swimsuit tagged here is a dead ringer dupe for a pricier version of the same cut that I found on Spring Break last year. I even like this one a little bit better to be honest! And the ruffle strap style is so feminine and flirty with the deep plunging neckline (seeing as I have found religion with SPF, I don’t care so much about tan lines anymore and am willing to be a little more playful with necklines).

Moving on, I also love suits that stand out in either color or pattern. I love how different all 4 of these. You’ve got a bold bubblegum style, which is in the super popular crinkle material that’s sweeping the beaches right now, followed by a colorful swirled pattern of the same silhouette. Next, we have a monokini style in a gorgeous terracotta color that I am definitely bringing with me to Arizona later this week (fingers crossed it arrives on time). Finally, the biggest splurge on the list, but definitely a beauty, is this Tory Burch halter style. The neckline is flattering and great if you’re trying to avoid heavy tan lines around your collar area, and I’ve worn Tory bathing suits before so I can attest to the quality and craftsmanship. I can’t wait for mine to arrive.
