White Jeans, 4 Ways

by Courtney Schultz

OK, here’s my truth: I miss getting dressed. I think we all do, to some extent. I just miss our regular weekly activities, too; having a REASON to get dressed in a certain way, having things that keep our week moving along at a normal clip.

Sooner or later, life WILL get back to its normal flow (with maybe a few alterations to the previous rhythms) and when it does, I will most definitely be glad to slip back into several of our previous weekly routines. So in honor of the days gone by and those yet to come, I put together four looks that ALL have one thing in common (WHITE DENIM) and I can’t wait to have the excuse to wear them all again soon.

You can watch the whole styling video here and then see my breakdown of each outfit below. πŸ‘‡πŸΌπŸ‘‡πŸΌπŸ‘‡πŸΌπŸ‘‡πŸΌπŸ‘‡πŸΌ

Look 1: Coffee Work Date

One of the things I look forward to every week is my Wednesday Work Day. It is a day that I have a babysitter for the kiddos all day and I hit my favorite local coffee shop to grind out a few pages of my book, or work on making new merchandise for the With Heart Shop. Maybe I also hit a few errands or grab a coffee with a girlfriend. This outfit is perfect for that. It is casual but tailored enough it suits my job and lifestyle perfectly, makes me feel well-styled and is still practical. This is the only outfit that features a wide-leg cropped pant. I love this style so much, but my exact pair is almost sold out, so if you want to snag, don’t wait! I’ve also linked an almost identical pair from Anthropologie. The bodysuit is a perfect top for the wider leg pant, and a jean jacket pulls it all together. My signature summer bag that I wear ALL Summer long adds a nice bit of natural rattan to the black and white outfit, and my super discounted Veronica Beard slides are elegant but easy.

Look 2: Pizza Friday/Cocktails in with friends

Oh, how I miss having friends over to hang out. Whether it’s Pizza Friday or just cocktails on the patio, it’s one of the things I look forward to doing a LOT when the stay at home order lifts! I think this easy outfit with the graphic tee, Toothpick Jeans, and kimono is casual enough for home, but fun enough for cocktails with the crew. Makes me want to shake up a margarita or open a bottle of good wine and settle in for a long night with my friends. My exact graphic tee is old, but I’ve linked several (here, here, here and here) that would look perfect with this golden kimono!

Look 3: Date Night

Date night. Remember when we used to do that? Another activity that I miss terribly is the one night a week Stockton and I would sneak away to reconnect. Our kids miss their babysitter, we miss having adult-only conversation, and yes, I miss getting all dolled up to go hop around to our favorite places. This top is an old Anthropologie favorite of mine and I LOVE to dress it up with big fancy earrings. It’s vibrancy pairs perfectly with simple white denim and a chunky heel. Add a glass of cold rosΓ© and now we’re talking.

Look 4: Play Date

One thing I don’t have to look too far to find these days is play time with my kids, and for that, I am so grateful. These last few weeks have done wonders in improving and strengthening my relationships with ALL my kids, and just giving me more of an opportunity to be their pal. Getting into their lives by getting on their level. Which is why I HAD to include a look for my number one role of MOM. The white jeans, I’ll admit, are a risky move with the kiddos, but hey you only live once. The dip-dye sweatshirt has quickly become a favorite of mine, and can we just take a moment to appreciate the belt bag? (Navy insists on calling it a fanny pack, still, and I’ll allow it because let’s just call a spade a spade). I never thought I’d own one, but dang if it’s not the best little accessory for taking to the park, on a hike, to a market, you name it. Throw in your keys, your wallet, or in my case, a handful of tootsie roll pops, and you’ll be on your way. Of course, I slip one of my many pairs of birks to complete the Spring Momiform and off to the playground we go.
